Leadership Responsibilities

One of the primary outcomes of education-based athletics can be the development of leadership skills. Not only do sports provide for “team captains”, there are a wide range of potential assignments and responsibilities to develop leadership traits within all of those involved with school sports. The athletic administrator, as the “Coach of Coaches”, needs to take a key role is distinguishing the leadership opportunity among coaches as well as similar development from student participants.

This section will provide examples of Leadership expectations and “how” those traits can be taught.
